Rtnn: Police in Savar will use drones to control traffic and prevent passengers from traveling on the roofs of buses during Eid journeys.

Talking to journalists, Highway Police Chief Additional IGP Shahabuddin Khan said law enforcers will take strict action against bus drivers if they carry passengers on the roofs of their vehicles.

He said this while visiting Nabinagar-Chandra Highway in Savar on Thursday.

Additional IGP Shahabuddin Khan said that members of the police and other law enforcement agencies are working to ensure a smooth Eid journey for home goers. Additional members of police have been deployed at important points to ease traffic congestion. There is special vigilance to ensure that there is no traffic jam due to the ongoing road development works and cattle stalls on roadsides. Apart from this, various steps have been taken to keep the traffic normal during the Eid trips.

He said that the force will use drones and speakers to provide guidance wherever necessary.

Shahabuddin Khan said that the police have identified some traffic-prone areas on the highway and are working to ensure smooth traffic at the spots.

“We have taken special measures wherever necessary. We have built watch towers as well,” he added.
